B2B Missing Out on Social Media Benefits

According to new research from eMarketer, companies may be missing out on lead generation opportunities and improvements in product development.  According to the study, social networks can “improve communication between customers, prospects and suppliers; aid collaboration between business partners; help with product development; and identify leads.”

Google Admits to Collecting Private Data with Street View

Google released an update on their blog last week stating that they accidentally collected personal data while performing street view sweeps.  The statement was released after an internal review of the data collected, due to a request from the DPA (Data Protection Authority) in Hamburg, Germany.

Nexus One Availability Changes

Google finally caved in to what industry analysts have been stating for months and announced changes being made in the availability of the Nexus One, stating that “it’s clear that many customers like a hands-on experience before buying a phone, and they also want a wide range of service plans to choose from.” Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering at Google, stated that “while the global adoption of the Android platform has exceeded our expectations, the web store has not.”

Google Voice Invites for Students

Starting on May 14th, Google will be giving priority to Google Voice invites to students.  To get an invite, visit http://google.com/voice/students and enter a “.edu” email address.  Invites will be sent out within 24 hours of submission, and only one invite will be sent per email address.
