Rumors are starting to surface around the web that the HTC Thunderbolt will receive an OTA update soon. In a recent response to a user support inquiry, an HTC rep stated that an OTA update to Gingerbread was coming in Q2 2011.
This information, along with a laundry list of Android 2.3 features were also mentioned in her response. Although an exact date hasn’t been confirmed it’s always nice when the information is generated by an HTC rep.

Skype will soon add advertisements to their Windows desktop application. The ads will be introduced in the US, UK, and Germany this week, and will appear on the Skype desktop Home Tab. Companies like Groupon, Universal Pictures, and Visa are among the advertisers that will begin running at launch.

These apps gained system access when downloaded and intercepted and secretly transmitted private data from user’s handsets to third party servers. Verizon Wireless will carry the Apple iPad 2 on launch day (March 11th). Although Verizon has not made any formal announcement, they are expected to join a number of other retailers to begin selling a 3G version of the new tablet that is compatible with it’s EV-DO network and will charge $600+ for the 16GB model.
