Verizon Wireless Christmas Ads

AT&T filed suit against Verizon for their recent “There’s a Mapp for That” ads.  In response to the suit, Verizon Wireless has released several more ads – targeting Christmas including Blue Christmas, elves, and even the Island of Misfit Toys. Checkout the Christmas ads below…

Droid Placement on Google

Droid is being advertised on Google‘s homepage this week, and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Google participate in self-promotion.  One of the world’s most visited home pages displays a text ad for the new android phone, which was released in the US today.  There’s no doubt that this promotion from Google will impact the buzz being generated about the new phone.

New Threshold for eCommerce Web Page Response Times

Akamai Technologies released key findings last month from a commissioned study (www.akamai.com/2seconds) conducted by Forrester examining eCommerce web site performance and its impact on an online shopper’s behavior. From a very high-level, the biggest take away is that two seconds is the new threshold in terms of an average online shopper’s expectation for a web page to load and 40% of shoppers will wait no more than three seconds before abandoning a retail or travel site.

Yahoo Image Search Upgrades

Yahoo Image Search Upgrades

Yahoo also updated their image and video search last week to make them more consistent with recent releases to the overall search portal.  According to the Yahoo Search Blog, their engineers re-built the image and video search completely from scratch, updating the core fuctionality and SRP design as well.
