How to Manually Update the Droid Incredible to Froyo

The Froyo update is hitting Incredible phones, but is being released in batches (similar to historical Verizon updates).  If you just can’t wait for the OTA and would like to manually update your Droid Incredible, follow the instructions below to manually update your device.

Download the file from HERE

Save the file to your SD Card (top-level, no folders) and rename as update.zip
Power off your phone
Hold volume down and turn on your phone to access the bootloader screen
Select recovery from the list

Official Froyo Update for Droid Incredible

The official Froyo (Android 2.2) update for the Droid Incredible started rolling our on Friday, August 27th. Similar to other Verizon updates, it will be released in batches over time. Froyo OTA for Droid Incredible Coming Soon

Mashable is reporting that they’ve received information regarding the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update for the Droid Incredible from sources within Verizon.  The update will be released today, August 18th.  It will most likely be released in phases, similar to other Android updates from Verizon.  So, if you don’t get the update right away, just be patient… (via Mashable)

Temporary Fix for Incredible Browser Issues

HTC released the following statement and instructions regarding the Droid Incredible browser privacy issues.  At this time, there is no time-line on the distribution of the more permanent solution.
