Intel to Purchase McAfee

Intel to Purchase McAfee

Intel announced that it will purchase McAfee, the creators of anti-virus software, this month for ~$7.7 billion.  According to the NY Times, “Under the terms of the deal, Intel will pay $48 a share in cash, a 60 percent premium to McAfee’s Wednesday closing stock price of $29.93.”

With the acquisition of McAfee, Intel will enter into the security sector, which is expected to encounter continuous growth.  Read more from the official release below. (via Business Wire)

Google Launches Small Business Blog

Google Launches Small Business Blog

Google launched a new blog this month, the Small Business Blog, which will showcase a real-life entrepreneurs and their experiences in “building companies from scratch and embracing Internet tools that have taken their business to the next level.”  The blog will also provide information on Google‘s products, features, and projects that most likely interest the small to medium sized business community (i.e. AdWords, Apps, Places, and YouTube).  Check out the new blog here. Twitter Replaces Official Retweet Button

Twitter Replaces Official Retweet Button

Twitter announced they are replacing the widely popular TweetMeme Retweet Button with one of their very own last week, enabling users to share links directly from the page they are on.   Twitter stated they are “working closely” with TweetMeme and that TweetMeme will also begin using the new official Twitter button.

Here is a list of some sites that have already integrated the new implementation.
