Android Reaches 200 Million Activations

While unveiling Google music at their event earlier this week, Google announced that they have activated over 200 million devices.  It’s grown over 100 million in the last 6 months!

How to Manually Update Your Android Market with Music

If you still haven’t received the updated Android Market with music look no further.  You can download and install an apk (just like any other app) and get the update.

Another notable new feature (other than the addition of music) is pin locking.  Users are now able to set and require a PIN to be entered before apps can be purchased from the market.

Updated Google Music App Available

An update for the Google Music app is now available in the Android Market.  Some of the new features include the following:

Google Music is no longer in beta.  An invitation is no longer required and the service is open to all users.  You can upload thousands of songs and listen to purchased music instantly on your devices
Fully integrated with the Android Market music store.  All purchases will automatically appear in your Music app.

Google Releases Voice Actions for Android

Google announced the release of Voice Actions for Android, a series of commands that allow users to control their mobile device using their voice. Users will be able to “call contacts, listen to music, browse the web, send texts and email, and complete common tasks,” according to Hugo Barra, Google Product Management Director.
