Twitter Creates Promoted Tweets
Twitter announced its new program, dubbed Promoted Tweets, which will be the company’s first attempt at monetizing the network. Advertisers will be able to purchase keywords and have their ads displayed in targeted user search results. It’s still unclear how much companies are willing to pay to join this new advertising program. Twitter‘s current model will be based on a CPM until they have more time to evaluate the program.

Schaaf Consulting Acquires PartnerCentric
Schaaf Consulting announced last week that it acquired PartnerCentric, Inc. The combined company will create one of the largest outsourced program management (OPM) companies. The two companies already manage many of the top-performing affiliate programs, including the eBay Partner Network, Constant Contact, and Quicken Loans. The new company, known as Schaaf-PartnerCentric, will be lead by Brook Schaff (Schaaf Consulting CEO), and based out of Los Angeles. SponsorPay Acquires GratisPay
SponsorPay (www.sponsorpay.com) was established in 2009 and provides an innovative payment system which gives online gamers free access to premium content such as virtual currencies and items. SponsorPay serves more than 30 countries with fully localized versions of its application and reaches more than 40 million active users in Europe. “The acquisition of GratisPay is an important milestone for our company,” stated SponsorPay’s CEO Andreas Bodczek. Yahoo! News Search Updates
Yahoo! released a lot of new features on their News Search earlier this month. On the left column, they added a tool that allows users to filter their search results by popular news sources, decreasing the search time and improving the quality of the search. In addition, users can now also filter by time (e.g. last hour, day, or week).
