Skype Introduces Desktop Ad Units

Skype will soon add advertisements to their Windows desktop application.  The ads will be introduced in the US, UK, and Germany this week, and will appear on the Skype desktop Home Tab.  Companies like Groupon, Universal Pictures, and Visa are among the advertisers that will begin running at launch.

Study Suggests 10% of Mobile Users Are Responsible for 90% of Data Use

Wireless companies have been building out their network capabilities to handle the demand of increased traffic, and several adjusted data pricing.  The Telegraph, and UK based paper, recently published a study that suggests that 10% of all mobile broadband users account for 90% of data traffic.  The study also states that roughly 60% of data traffic will be driven by video in 2011.  (via Telegraph)

Google Fully Launches Adwords for Mobile

A few weeks ago, Google released AdWords for mobile, a new mobile interface for AdWords, which provides advertisers with a quick overview of how their account is performing and allows them to easily make changes to keywords and campaigns.  AdWords for mobile is currently only available for Android, iPhone, and Palm Pre devices and only for accounts managed in the US, UK, or Australia.
