Google released updates to their search results earlier this week. They have added relevant navigation on the left-hand side of the page as well as made some minor changes to their logo. The new panel “highlights the most relevant search tools and refinements” for users’ queries, stated Marissa Mayer, VP Search Products & User Experience at Google. In 2009, Google announced a program that would enabled hosting companies to integrate Google services into their control panels for easy access to their customers. According to Google, several hosting companies (including Go Daddy, FatCow, and Aplus) have adopted the program, and “thousands of websites have benefited from configuring services like AdSense, Custom Search and Webmaster Tools.”

It looks like Google has changed up their layout / design of the search results pages that they’ve been testing since late 2009. This new version appears to incorporate many of the enhanced features that Yahoo released in their updated search results pages. This new version includes a slightly different logo and layout.
