Google Introduces YouTube Live

Yesterday, Google announced that it is releasing it’s YouTube Live beta (youtube.com/live).  YouTube will stream concerts, interviews, and other live events and users will be able to subscribe and receive updates to partner’s streaming on YouTube Live.  Google is working with only a few select partners initially, but stated their goal is to provide thousands of partners with live stream capabilities on their channels in the coming months.  (via Google)

Apple Showcases Next Generation of Apple TV

Also at last week’s keynote, Apple showcased updates Apple TV – which focuses on streaming media and HD content.  The new device is smaller, has power, optical audio and ethernet ports, built in WiFi, and more.  It will provide users with MobileMe, Podcast, Flickr, YouTube, and Netflix streaming as well as iTunes rentals.  The device is available today for pre-order for just $99. 400 Full Movies Now on YouTube

Google recently launched a new section (called “Movies”), which provides users with full-length movies.  Most of the movies included in this new section are free, however there area a few that are available for rental.  This is one of Google‘s efforts to “ensure that people can find all the different kinds of video they want to see…”  They have also sorted the videos into categories ranging from action and adventure to romance and horror.  Checkout the new category HERE!

Google Launches Small Business Blog

Google Launches Small Business Blog

Google launched a new blog this month, the Small Business Blog, which will showcase a real-life entrepreneurs and their experiences in “building companies from scratch and embracing Internet tools that have taken their business to the next level.”  The blog will also provide information on Google‘s products, features, and projects that most likely interest the small to medium sized business community (i.e. AdWords, Apps, Places, and YouTube).  Check out the new blog here.
