To aid in their Android app development, Facebook has started a new beta testing program for their Android Facebook app to help identify bugs and get user feedback before each monthly release. The fragmentation of the Android user base makes it very difficult for app developers to resolve every bug in each release. The social media giant will be using Google’s new framework that allows developers to create a Google Group for beta testing and allow those users to download beta versions directly from the Play Store.

To sign up for the beta testing program, follow these simple steps.

  1. Sign up for the Google Group here
  2. Opt-in to become a beta tester
  3. Download the app from Google Play
  4. Join the Facebook beta testing group to collaborate with developers and other testers
